Description
In attendance for the presentation of the sculpture entitled "Infinite Hour Glass (Minimal surface)" to the Institute for Advanced Study are (l. to r.): School of Mathematics Faculty member Atle Selberg, Louise Morse, sculptor Craig Schaffer, and Alice Beckenbach, who donated the piece on behalf of AMIAS (Association of Members of the Institute for Advanced Study) in memory of her husband, Edwin F. Beckenbach, who was a Member of the School of Mathematics (1951-1952 academic year) and was later an AMIAS Trustee.
