Description
This portion of the Faculty file contains correspondence and other documentation relating to the celebration of Einstein's 70th brithday, including the gift of a radio given to him by his Institute for Advanced Study colleagues, including some of those engaged in the Electronic Computer Project who designed and assembled the radio. Among the other documents in this folder is an English translation of Max von Laue's tribute (Reviews of Modern Physics 21 (1949): 348) to Einstein that appeared in the journal volume dedicated to the occasion. Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed." These removed items are now located in the offprint collection of the Institute's Historical Studies-Social Science Library.
