Description
This portion of the Faculty file contains chronological correspondence and other documentation relating to Albert Einstein, who died in 1955 (April 18), which is the year of the materials in this folder. After Professor Einstein's death there was an outpouring of sympathy from far and wide, including the telegrams in this folder which represent the variety of those expressing their condolences. Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed." These removed items are now located in the offprint collection of the Institute's Historical Studies-Social Science Library.
