Elias A. Lowe Faculty file: correspondence, 1937 to 1943

Paleographer Elias A. Lowe was among the first Faculty appointments to an early School of the Institute, the School of Humanistic Studies (and his affiiation continued with the later School of Historical Studies). Lowe accepted a post at the Institute in December 1935 and the chronological contents of this file reflect administrative matters such as the appointment of assistants, acquistion of furniture, and funding. Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed." These removed items are now located in the offprint collection of the Institute's Historical Studies-Social Science Library.
