Description
Sculpture in bronze titled Nike. Robert R. Wilson was a physicist at the Laboratory of Nuclear Studies, Cornell University in 1965. He was invited by J. Robert Oppenheimer and Wallace K. Harrison to create a sculpture for the newly built library. Wilson went on in 1967 to become the founding director of Fermilab, originally named the National Accelerator Laboratory.
