Description
Bronze bust of Albert Einstein.The bust was sculpted from life in 1933 in Cromer Norfolk, England for Hiram J. Halle. Halle was a close friend and financial supporter of Epstein. The bust passed to Halle's nephew Joseph Schaffner, a friend of Harold Linder's. Schaffner left a life interest to his wife and to the Institute. Upon his death his widow waived her interest and it passed to the Institute. Epstein, born in New York 1880, moved to London in 1905.
