Description
Wooden mask; small holes above eyes to suggest eyebrows(; small short pegs above upper lip; mouth open to show some teeth which are broken and/or missing; four larger peg carvings along chin; on reverse are two round partial stamps in red wax(202); statement from Didier Fassin: "...very probable that they all come from the same region and maybe even the same Magar group..although it is not sure. It is likely that they are about 100 years old and were used for shamanistic practices."
