Automatic Compilation of Semitic Lexica

This paper constitutes the first formal report of the Arabic-Syriac Lexicon project, from The Syriac Computing Institute. We show here a practical method for compiling an electronic lexicon, based on published lexica, for Semitic languages. Our method, though is not a computational morphology system, makes a practical use of the root-and-pattern nature of Semitic morphology.
