Round silver medal with obverse featuring embossed Hebrew letters and a depiction of a nude female and male in a pastoral setting with the woman offering the man a bowl from which to drink. The reverse features the Star of David embossed at the top with a rendering beneath of the Beth Israel Hospital building and three lines of text at the bottom: "Beth Israel Hospital/Newark New Jersey/ February 1928," below which appears a stylized caduceus. Artist's or maker's mark may appear in lower right on obverse. In original black leather case, blue satin and velvet inside and a brown cardboard box with a rectangular design on the lid, border, and slightly damaged corners, inside is white cardboard. |
