Description
This portion of the Faculty file contains correspondence and other materials regarding Albert Einstein's published and unpublished personal and scientific papers. In the years immediately after Einstein's death in 1955, the Institute for Advanced Study sought to have published a collection of Einstein's published scientific works. The literary estate of Albert Einstein, in the meantime, made plans to publish everything else. The contents of this file reflect how long it took for any of this to begin to be realized. Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed." These removed items are now located in the offprint collection of the Institute's Historical Studies-Social Science Library.
