Description
The tank containing 100,00 gallons of perchloroethylene at the Homestake Gold Mine located 4,900 feet below ground surface in Lead, South Dakota . Raymond Davis, Jr., a close collaborator of John Bahcall, was a chemist with Brookhaven National Laboratory, which supported Davis's full-scale undertaking at Homestake. There are three additional images in the collection that were taken at Homestake.
