Description
This framed print of a Maass waveform was presented by Dennis Hejhal to Atle Selberg on his 75th birthday, and is inscribed in pen on the verso: "#1 For Atle with best wishes! DAH." The illustration was produced by Bill Casselman. who is an emeritus professor of The University of British Columbia's Mathematics Department. Hejhal says that Selberg's work made the Maass waveform "vital." The print, which is under a navy blue mat in a black finish metal frame, was hanging on the wall of Atle Selberg's office on the Institute for Advanced Study campus.
