This portion of the Faculty file contains correspondence and other documentation relating to Kurt Gödel, who was one of two Einstein Prize Award recipients in 1951 -- the Award's inaugural year. A Member of the Institute for Advanced Study in 1951, Gödel was appointed to the Faculty two years later. Julian Schwinger was the other recipient of the Prize Award in 1951. Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed." These removed items are now located in the offprint collection of the Institute's Historical Studies-Social Science Library.
