Albert Einstein debarks the S.S. Belgenland in San Diego, California. Einstein and his wife, Elsa (second from left), are greeted by San Diego's mayor, Harry C. Clark, who stands on Einstein's left at the front of the picture. Also identified (white shirt, light colored pants) is Paul Henneberg, Director of the San Diego High School band, which presented a program welcoming Einstein.
