Description
Since the late 1940s, the Institute for Advanced Study has held a holiday celebration for children of Institute Members, Faculty, and staff close to Christmas. Until the 1980s, the celebrations included sweets and presents distributed to the children by Santa Claus. Later years included an increased emphasis on nondenominational festivities and entertainment. For many years, the celebration was held in Fuld Hall, though, at least once in the 1970s, it was held in the Dining Hall. It was moved to the Dining Hall permanently in 1981.
