One in a series of nine photographs (EB 177-EB 185) that were bound together in a paperboard portfolio, this image of two people in a sailboat would appear to be Albert Einstein (right) and his son, Hans Albert Einstein. None of the prints in this series of nine have handwritten information on the versos, but all are stamped: "Globe Photo Service, Greenville, S.C. AUG 10 1942." Hans Albert Einstein worked at the U.S. Agricultural Experiment Station in Clemson, South Carolina, from 1938-1943, and it seems likely that this set of images was taken on the occasion of a visit by Albert to Hans Albert.
