Scharl's signature and the date (1950) are in the bottom right corner. In the bottom left corner, Scharl wrote in pencil:"Princeton. Feb. 9, 1950. See also 2008.9, which is another copy of this image. Additional copies of this image in the collection are: 1. Four (4) 14" x 11" copies on Kodak paper (these do not feature the handwritten signatures, etc., along the bottom of the original) and one 11" x 8.5" reproduction on an original page torn out of an unidentified publication. The verso of this torn sheet is a memorial to Scharl written by Albert Einstein. (See scans of this sheet, which includes the image itself showing the signatures of Einstein and Scharl.) In 1979, in conjunction with celebrations of the centennial of Einstein's birth, this image was reproduced twice by the Institute for Advanced Study. First, in the book SOME STRANGENESS IN THE PROPORTION. Second, on posters printed marking the occasion.PrintAlbert EinsteinImage
