The inquiries in this case include requests to Einstein to be an event speaker or be interviewed, and even a request for him to appear in a film. There are also requests of a more indirect nature such as those for available photographs. Requests from members of the public and those of a more routine nature were most often replied to by Institute support staff, but the distinguished nature of the correspondents in this folder required responses from the Institute's Director, which, in this case, was most often Frank Aydelotte (1939-1947). Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed."
