Lowe was among the first Faculty appointments to an early School of the Institute, the School of Humanistic Studies (and his affiiation continued with the later School of Historical Studies). Lowe accepted a post at the Institute in December 1935 and this subject file addresses issues that arose after Lowe's death in 1969, including the memorial service held on the Institute campus. Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed."
