Lowe was among the first Faculty appointments to an early School of the Institute, the School of Humanistic Studies (and his affiiation continued with the later School of Historical Studies). Lowe first met Abraham Flexner in 1928. The contents of this file date from that early time in their acquaintance and continue through Lowe's acceptance of a post at the Institute in December 1935 and the arrangements that followed. Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed."
