She remained his secretary and was part of his household even after he moved to the United States in the early 1930s. After his death in 1955, she was the key person who organized and maintained his papers until her own death in 1982. This folder contains documents that refer to her death, and also contains a single page in which she explains the origins of the Einstein quote, "God is subtle but he is not malicious," which Einstein gave permission to Princeton University to use in a new academic building (now Jones Hall), where it was carved in the original German over the fireplace. Some folders in the Director's Office Faculty files series include a processing note with the heading "Items Removed."
